Letting Go...

In the Kindergarten handbook it states: "After the first week of school, please allow your child the privilege of walking to class alone."
Today marks a week of class for Gabi and as she screamed "NO!" at the top of her lungs and clung to the car door for dear life as I dropped her off to walk to class on her own, it hardly felt like I was "allowing her the privilege".
It felt more like I was forcing her to grow up before she was ready.
*Sigh*

A True Testiment...

To just how busy I am these days.
I meant to update this video from last year but by the time I got done making cupcakes, wraping presents, bathing and feeding the baby it was way past my bedtime.
I still love this video even if it is a year old.

Happy Birthday Baby!
Mommy and daddy love you so, so much!

New Pictures

I am too sleepy to write much.
I stayed out past my bed time last night seeing "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince", I won't spoil it for you except to say it's really good, best yet.
I just wanted to share these latest photos I snapped of Charlotte.

Finding Balance

I am back at work.
Back to the daily grind and trying desperately to balance my new life.
Most days I feel like I have thrown ten balls up in the air and I have to catch them all at the same time before they hit the ground.
Everyday I have to get both kids and myself out the door by 8:30.
It may not sound like much but by the time I am in the car I feel like there should be a trophy with my name on it in the front seat.
It would say First Place in the "Waking Up, Getting the Kids Dressed, Fed and with all Supplies Needed for School" category. I should also get an honorable mention for getting myself out the door with out spit up on my clothes (most days) or milk leaking out my breasts.
Speaking of breasts, now that I am back at work and still trying to do right by Charlotte I have to pump breast milk while I am at work.
This isn't completely new territory for me, I did pump with Gabi but for some reason this time feels totally different.
With Gabi I purchased the cheapest breast pump on the market, a hand held model that took about an hour to express 2 ounces of milk, good times.
I also was forced to pump in a bathroom stall while my co workers did their business next to me.
Don't ask, it was a gross as you are imagining.
This time I purchased an electric model that can suck about four ounces out of each breast at the same time in about ten minutes.
It's quick and efficient but most of the time I feel like a cow.
Moo.
The station has a green room so I go in there, watch TV and pump.
But pumping at work is giving me a complex.
Last night I had a dream/nightmare that I was running to the control room at work for breaking news and I still had the breast pump attached to my boobs.
Just picture that for a moment and try not to laugh.
Today is also Charlotte's three month mark.
She's doing really well.
She's using her little leg muscles to move around her bed at night at I am convinced she recognizes me now.
She smiles for me every night when I come home and it totally makes my day.
I guess all this craziness really is worth it.

My Favorite...

The big question around the newsroom today was "What's your favorite Michael Jackson song?"
This one is mine...

I am really gonna miss him.
I can still remember in our house in Alabama watching the making of "Thriller" tape over and over again.
It had John Landis talking about the video and showed Jackson getting all made up.
Good times...
